2lbof mixed unsweetened tropical frozen fruits:pineapple, mango, strawberry, and papaya
2tablespoonsof honeyOptional
Instructions
In a food processor, add yogurt and frozen tropical fruits.
Next, blend them to create a smooth consistency. I like to leave some chunks of fruit inside.
Then, add honey and pulse it into the mixture. (Optional)
At this point, taste adjusts for sweetness.
Serve it right away. Or freeze it for later use.
If you only leave it in the fridge, it will melt and become more of a smoothie consistency.
ENJOY.
Notes
Tips for best smoothie bowl
Serve it as a light, healthy dessert after dinner!
Use whole milk yogurt rather than reduced-fat yogurt.
Taste and adjust for sweetness; add more fruits or honey.
Add herbs or sweet spices for extra flavor.
Sneak in some vegetables or nut butter. Kids will eat them without noticing.
If you use fruits with more water content, like berries and oranges, add some nut butter (peanut butter, almond butter, cashew butter, or hazelnut butter) to thicken them up.
Mix in some chopped nuts after blending them.
Make popsicles with left over.
Check out the section below for the complete substitute.
You can use one or more of each of these tropical fruits.
Frozen tropical fruits have hard meaty consistency, and when blended with yogurt, it is ready to serve. However, if you want to make a smoothie bowl without frozen fruits and you want to use fresh tropical fruits, then the blend must be frozen for a couple of hours before serving. Or freeze the fresh fruits, then use them.
Substitutes
Substitute plain whole milk yogurt with milk, greek yogurt, milk kefir, sour cream, cottage cheese, cream cheese, or heavy cream. Make it vegan using dairy-free milk, yogurt, or cheese.
You do not need to use all these tropical fruits; use one or any combination of these fruits you like. Pineapple flavor, mango flavor, and strawberry flavors are my favorites. Other fruit substitutes are bananas, peaches, blueberries, and oranges.
Substitute honey with maple syrup. Or omit it and make a sugar-free tropical smoothie bowls recipe.
Mix in nut butter or chopped nuts such as pistachios, almonds, peanuts, and walnuts... Seeds such as chia, sunflower, or pumpkin seeds.
Add some herbs such as mint, basil, parsley, and cilantro.
Use spices such as allspice, anise, cinnamon, cloves, or cardamom.
Topping ideas includes toasted coconut flake, nuts, seeds, fresh fruits,
Variations
Simply blend the examples below with whole milk yogurt and taste to customize the sweetness, then freeze it. Or substitute whole milk yogurt with milk kefir for more probiotics to improve digestion and gut health!

Banana with cherry flavor.
Cocoa powder or chocolate with fruit flavor. Adding mint to it is another option.
Heavy cream with lemonade and berries flavor.
Banana with peach or orange flavor.
Heavy cream with coffee flavor for adults.
And any combination flavor that tastes the best to you!
Add sweet, warm spices such as allspice, anise, cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, and aromatic herbs such as mint, basil, parsley, and cilantro.
A flat tropical smoothie bowls recipe bar with the flavors mentioned above and topped with nut butter or chopped nuts is another option! You can even add a layer of simple cookie batter (heat-treated flour +butter +honey) to it.
How to store it
Pour it into an air-tight mason jar and place it in the fridge for up to 3 days. If you only leave it in the fridge, it will melt and become more of a smoothie consistency. The best way to freeze them is either by pouring them into a mold and making popsicles or freezing them on a flat surface (freeze-safe plastic bag) and making bars. Store it frozen for 2 weeks or up to a month.
How to serve it
Serve it as a delicious sweet treat after lunch or dinner. Or serve them as a sweet treat for breakfast or a snack.
